Jambalaya Challenge & Big Stick Updates

A yellow perch caught in Connecticut
 by George Norton
Just two months left in our Jambalaya Challenge, and the competition is heating up faster than a pot of gumbo!  With 334 entries so far, we're on pace to break the all-time entries record set in 2024.  Here is the leaderboard as of now:

Brian Roberts - 41
Ben Roussel   - 38
George Norton - 29
Chris Williams  - 28
Brad Dunne     - 28
Bill Morrison    - 24
Carlos Adams - 22
Murray Neames - 21

Keep those entries coming!

There's been no changes in the Big Stick contest, but that's about to change with cooler weather.  Bigger bass are more active again, along with bull reds and larger trout moving into the interior marshes.  Be sure to bring your measuring board next time you’re on the water!

If you’re interested in taking part in either event, check out the details by clicking on the Jambalaya Challenge and Big Stick items on the menu above.

Join us for this month’s Flies & Flights at Rally Cap Brewing, on Wednesday, October 21st from 7-9pm.  We haven’t settled on a pattern just yet, but I’m sure we’ll have something cooked up before the date rolls around.

Whether you’re a seasoned tier or new to the vise, come hang out, sip some craft brews, and tie a fly with the community.

F&F is an independent collective of tiers just looking to tie and enjoy a social gathering with some fine brews. While not affiliated with Red Stick, it was hatched by a few club members as an alternative to a traditional meeting environment. Everyone is welcome!
