Fly tying begins at 8:30am and continues through the day. Some of the region's top fly tiers will be on hand.
There are free refreshments during the day. A jambalaya lunch will be served with salad and roll for a nominal cost. Then there's the big raffle for flies, tackle, equipment, and other items that benefit the club's education and conservation projects.

Past president of Contraband Fly Casters, Ron is an annual invited tier to Sowbug Roundup. He enjoys fishing from the Louisiana saltwater marshes to Arkansas Ozark rivers.
Ray Boudreaux – New Iberia, LA.
Ray ties flies for saltwater and freshwater. His saltwater crab pattern is a killer in the Cocodrie and Chauvin marshes.
Kyle Moppert – Baton Rouge, LA.
Kyle is a past president of RSFF and the FFI Gulf Coast Council, and recognized with the FFI Presidents Award in 2014. A tyer of a variety of excellent files, he is well known for his “Rusty Sparrow”.
Marc Pinsel – Hammond, LA.
Creator of the 4M and a master of wool flies, Marc has tied at shows across the US and Europe. He will gladly swap flies for fine cigars.
Mike Jackson - New Orleans, LA.
Mike is president of the Gulf Coast Fly Tyers. He makes some very effective poppers for bass, bream, and saltwater, as well as beautiful Clouser Minnows.
Kenneth Breaux – Dequincy, LA
President of the Contraband Fly Casters, he loves fishing for bass, bream and crappie using proven patterns.
Steve Oliver – Shreveport, LA
Steve is a very innovative tier, having won his club’s Mystery Fly Contest. He ties a variety of flies for bass and trout.
Ted Cabali – River Ridge, LA
Recognized by the FFF for his contributions to tying and teaching the sport, Ted has created some exceptional flies, including the famous Sqwirm Worm, a proven big bass killer!
