Membership Dues and Benefits
Membership dues typically cover the calendar year (January 1 through December 31.)
- $25 per family (offspring under 21).
- Free for full time high-school and college students, active military.
Exceptions: If you’re joining as a new member to the club in July through October, dues are $12.50 and cover you until the end of the calendar year. If you join as a new member in November or December, dues are $25, and cover you through December 31 of the following year (what a deal!), and yes, you’re eligible to get the Big Bundle of raffle tickets for drawings at the annual Red Stick Day conclave the following Spring.
If you’re a returning member who somehow forgot to pay your dues, they’re $25 whenever you pay, and it covers you through December 31 of that same year.
You need to have paid your dues for the present year if you want the Big Bundle: a discount on a bundle of 60 raffle tickets for an additional $25 – a savings of $15 over buying tickets and membership separately. Most returning members just write a check for $50 in January, February, or March, with Big Bundle in the “memo” line, to cover it all. Our Red Stick Day conclave typically happens in March.
Only dues-paying members in good standing are eligible to join us free of charge on club trips and events (other than the Red Stick Day conclaves and the monthly meetings, which are always open to the general public.) Members-only activities typically include rod building clinics, crawfish boils, the annual club banquet, and access to the members-only areas of the this website.
For those of you who are up to date on your club dues by the end of April, we have a drawing for a valuable membership raffle prize (e.g., a TFO Pro Series rod of your choice) often scheduled for the May General Membership meeting.
Members also receive our monthly newsletter by email, or they can download issues from this website.
